Morfydd Owen - Nocturne

For the third instalment of Classics with NOW, we鈥檙e reliving our performance of Morfydd Owen鈥檚 Nocturne at the 2018 成人快手 Proms with conductor Thomas S酶nderg氓rd. This performance was the first in London since it was premi猫red at Queen鈥檚 Hall, Langham Place in 1913.

Welsh composer Morfydd Owen had a unique musical voice, evident from the 250 works she composed before her untimely death at the age of 26. She is best known for her works for voice and piano, though she wrote for a range of ensembles, including full orchestra. She won the Charles Lucas Silver Medal for composition for Nocturne.
