US ends Hong Kong special status
Hong Kong will no longer benefit from a special status in US law - after President Donald Trump signed an executive order and a bill approved by congress taking measures to hold China accountable for limiting Hong Kong's freedoms.
Mr Trump said that the US would hold China accountable for what he called the "oppressive" national security law it imposed on Hong Kong.
