The personal and political art of Shirin Neshat

The acclaimed Iranian-American artist came to prominence with her photographic series 'Women of Allah'. She left her native Iran in the 1970s (before the 1979 Revolution) and has since made the US her home. The biggest exhibition of her career is currently on display in Los Angeles at The Broad museum, called 'Shirin Neshat: I Will Greet the Sun Again'. Razia Iqbal spoke to her at length about her career. She began by asking about one exhibit highlighting the work of an Iranian photographer who travelled around Mexico - and what it says about the relationship between Tehran and Washington DC.
