France finally returned my great-great-grandfather's sword

As part of its commitment to return precious artefacts stolen during colonial times, France has returned a sword to Senegal. Last year a report commissioned by French President Emanuel Macron advised him to pull thousands of African artefacts from the nation's museums and return them to the continent. The sword in question originally belonged to Omar Saidou Tall, a west African ruler and Islamic scholar who led an anti-colonial struggle against the French in the 1850s. Newsday spoke to Momodou Tail, the great great grandson of Omar Saidou Tall.
