British General & Kurdish folk singer on their album "Journey Through Conflict Iraq"
It's been 10 years since the British withdrawal from Iraq which saw the handing over control of coalition forces in the south to the US military. One of those who served during that time was Major General Andy Salmon. This week sees the release of an album called 'Journey Through Conflict Iraq'. He's made it alongside the Kurdish folk singer Nawroz Oramari, and pianist and composer Tom Donald. It fuses culture, music and conversation. He talks about his own journey to Iraq, and intertwines it with Oramari's vocals and Donald on the piano.
Julian Worricker has been speaking to Major-General Salmon and Kurdish Folk Singer Nawroz Oramari who first told him about the Iraq conflict as he has seen it.
