In 2006 Cyntoia Brown-Long was sentenced to life imprisonment in the USA for killing a man. She was 16 when she shot Johnny Allen and, even though she was still a child, she was sentenced as an adult. Her case attracted a lot of attention when it was discovered she had been a victim of sex trafficking and, after serving fifteen years of her sentence, she was granted clemency in January and released on probation in August.
