Spending a year on an Arctic research ship
Scientists on the RV Polarstern German icebreaker ship will travel to the Arctic soon to study the sea ice throughout the winter and into the new year. Julienne Stroeve, climate scientist at the University College London, explains what the expedition hopes to achieve and how the ship will anchor itself in the ice.
