Orkney's electric car revolution
Orkney has more electric cars than any other local authority in Scotland, according to the islands鈥� council. They鈥檙e at the forefront of the electric car revolution. Which scientists say is essential if we are to meet our net zero carbon emission target by 2045.
Across the UK a 拢3,500 grant towards a fully electric car is available; in Scotland the government also offers an interest free loan of up to 拢35,000 towards a purchase. And grants can bring the cost of a home charger down to as little as 拢100.
The Nine went to Orkney to find out what is driving their electric revolution.
