Are PIP assessments fair? As the legal costs of Tribunals dealing with appeals against PIP soars to as much as 拢5m - and with thousands of appeals yet to be heard - the NI Public Service Ombudsman is the first in the UK to use a new power - Own Initiative - to investigate into how the Department for Communities is carrying out the PIP assessments - to see if the process is fair.
