Swimmers flock to Hampstead Ladies’ Pond in winter for a dip in the icy waters
Hidden away along a shaded path in Hampstead Heath is one of London’s most peaceful spots. Each year, thousands of swimmers flock to Hampstead Ladies’ Pond for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and a dip in the icy waters. Now, a group of regular swimmers have written a collection of essays reflecting on their experiences at the Pond. Writers Nell Frizzell and Lou Stoppard have contributed to ‘At The Pond: Swimming at the Hampstead Ladies’ Pond’ and join me in the studio.
