The legacy of dictatorship and a journey of self discovery in Chile
The Remainder is by Alia Trabucco Zeran and is translated by Sophie Hughes. Iquela, Paloma and Felipe are the children of ex militants who opposed the Pinochet regime in Chile. When Paloma's mother dies in exile the three friends embark on a road trip with a difference. This is a novel which asks the question, how does the legacy of a dictatorship affect the generation which comes afterwards?
