How Jaws could be a life-saver for humans
Humans fear great white sharks but scientists say they could prove unlikely saviours of human life - that's because they say they have a huge and extraodinary genome. It may provide information that could help fight cancer and age-related diseases, and improve wound healing treatments in humans. Dr Mahmood Shivji from the Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Research Centre is one of the authors of the study and spoke to Newsday's Alan Kasujja:
