Regina and Elizabeth first met in church, later discovering they live a few doors apart.
When Elizabeth鈥檚 son Victor was born he needed heart surgery, spent two months in hospital and was diagnosed with Down鈥檚 Syndrome. Elizabeth's new acquaintance Regina stepped in and visited her in hospital, helped keep her house running and was a friendly support. Two years later Regina鈥檚 daughter Favour was born and ended up in the same hospital ward Victor was in. She too had heart surgery, was in hospital for six months and was also diagnosed with Down鈥檚 Syndrome. Elizabeth supported Regina in the same way. Now the two friends and their families are inseparable and say they feel as if they鈥檙e related. They are thankful for the power of a strong friendship which helps them face their challenges. Together, they regularly attend 'Aiming Higher', a Children in Need funded charity in Blackpool which gives them added support.
