What does 'Armageddon' mean in a chess game?
The world chess championship is due to be decided later today in central London. The title-holder, Magnus Carlsen of Norway, is being challenged by American challenger Fabiano Caruana. The two chess grandmasters have spent November locked in stalemate, after 12 games and 12 draws. They now have to play a series of fast-paced tie-breakers, culminating in a game type known as "Armageddon". Top player and chess journalist, Malcolm Pein explained:
