#sextakeover poll: I would consider having a sexual relationship with someone…

Results from our #sextakeover survey about the UK's attitude to sex and relationships.

This video was made produced by students from the University of Sunderland.

On Tuesday 20th November 5 Live is hosted the #sextakeover - a day of programming focussed on sexual behaviour, relationships and attitudes in the UK.

As part of the event, we commissioned a poll to find out more about the UK's attitudes towards sex.

For this question, respondents were asked to answer as if they were single.

More than two thirds (69%) of British adults say they would consider have a sexual relationship with someone from a different country.

Only half (53%) of British adults say they would consider having a sexual relationship with someone of a different religion/belief system.

Gender plays a significant factor on most of the statements tested. For example, two thirds (67%) of men say they would consider having a sexual relationship with someone of a different ethnicity/race, compared with less than three in five (57%) of women. Also, three in five (58%) men say they would consider having a sexual relationship with another adult more than ten years younger than them, compared with three in ten (28%) women.
