#sextakeover poll: Should education on LGBTQ sexual relationships be compulsory?

On Tuesday 20th November 5 Live is hosted the #sextakeover - a day of programming focussed on sexual behaviour, relationships and attitudes in the UK.

As part of the event, we commissioned a poll to find out more about the UK's attitudes towards sex.

British adults are broadly split over whether it should be compulsory for schools to teach children about LGBTQ sexual relationships (43% say yes vs. 39% who say no).

Three in five (60%) 18-24 year olds say it should be compulsory for schools to teach children about LGBTQ sexual relationships, compared with three in ten (31%) 65+ year olds who say the same.

This video was made produced by students from the University of Sunderland.
