Lombok earthquake: ‘It was like being in horror movie’
More than 100 people are known to have died and 20,000 have lost their homes after a powerful earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Lombok. The 6.9 magnitude quake came a week after another hit the island, killing 16 people.
Luke Turner was on the first day of his honeymoon when the earthquake struck and told ˿ Radio 5 Live it was like “being in a horror movie from start to finish”.
He says hotel guests were “sleeping outside on the pavement” because they were “too frightened” to go back indoors.
