Clean meat craze: our next food revolution?
What if eating a beef burger didn’t mean killing a cow? Cellular agriculture – that’s growing meat in a lab – is being tipped as the next foodie revolution. You don’t need a farm, a field, or even an animal - just a team of scientists, some stem cells and a petri dish. Can it really catch on? In America it seems it’s on the verge of doing so. Caz Graham talks to John Wilkes, a British Agricultural Consultant living in Washington who attended a meeting recently at the US Food and Drug Association.
