Long Interview: Susan Woodward
This week's long interview travels back to the Africa of the 1950s: before the post-colonial "wind of change" , and a time when there was hope of a peaceful move towards majority rule.
Sir Garfield Todd was prime minister of what was then Southern Rhodesia between 1953 and 58. He became a supporter of majority rule, and opposed the regime of Ian Smith which declared Unilateral Independence in 1965.
A new official biography of Todd has just been published. Bill Whiteford speaks to its author, Susan Woodward.
