Living with lead poisoning in Zambia
Lead mining used to be a major employment sector in the town of Kabwe in Zambia until the mines closed in 1994. But a century of mining has left a toxic legacy. Due to the levels of lead ingested into their system, children tested in Chowa community next to the decommissioned mine have levels in their blood sometimes five times what is safe according to the World Health Organisation. The 成人快手's Bola Mosuro has been in Kabwe to see the effects.
