The Catholic Church Apo

The Catholic Church in Scotland apologises to victims of a paedophile priest.
Blurb: A paedophile Catholic priest was jailed for nine years this week for sexually assaulting three children and a student priest 20 years ago. Father Paul Moore, 82, committed the crimes - including what would now be classified as the rape of a five-year-old boy - in various locations in Ayrshire between 1977 and 1996.
Following the sentencing, two of the victims, Paul Smyth AND Andi Lavery, said the Catholic Church had made no attempt to contact them, to support them or apologise. Isabel Fraser spoke to Father Tom Boyle, the former assistant general secretary of the Bishops' Conference of Scotland, about why this had not happened.
