Bisi Alimi was a successful actor, but after his revelation he had to flee for his life
Bisi Alimi was the first Nigerian man to come out as gay on national TV. It was in 2004 when he was working as an actor and had just landed a role in a soap opera. He made his announcement on a morning talk show and after the revelation, Bisi lost his job, the TV show he appeared on was closed down, and he had to flee Nigeria.
