Mother and daughter Jan and Ama previously recorded a conversation for the Listening Project in 2013, triggered by a photograph taken of them both at a wedding which showed their dreadlock hair. It sparked a conversation about race, identity and equality. On that occasion it was Jan who applied. In 2017 Ama listened again to the conversation and was driven to ask to record another conversation, and address the fact that in the intervening years her feelings and experiences around race have changed.
