Oscar winner tackles the life of tormented LA artist

The nominations for the Academy Awards have been announced and Business Matters has been talking to the directors in the short documentary category. The first of the five nominated films "Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405" is about a woman called Mindy Alper, a 56 year-old artist who is represented by one of Los Angeles' top galleries. Mindy, who suffers from acute anxiety, mental disorder and devastating depression has a different take on the world, exemplified in her enjoyment in being stuck stationary in a traffic jam in one of LA's most hated freeways. But she produces sublime, stark papier-mache sculptures and pencil drawings.

The film's director is Frank Stiefel.
