'China's Oprah Winfrey'

Chinese chat show host Jin Xing, who had gender re-assignment surgery, speaks to Mishal.

A television chat show with 100 million viewers was suddenly taken off air last autumn in China, just before the party congress that re-instated President Xi. The host, Jin Xing, has been called China's Oprah Winfrey but she is also an acclaimed dancer and choreographer - as well as being one of the first people in China to undergo gender re-assignment surgery.

Mishal Husain spoke her in Davos - about her hopes that the Chinese government will allow her back on air - and her early life as a young boy dreaming of a career in show business.
