African swine fever is spreading across Europe
A viral disease is proving deadly to domestic pigs and wild boar as it spreads across Europe. Professor Jonathan Ball, at the University of Nottingham, UK, speaks to Dr Linda Dixon, from the Pirbright Institute, about how the African Swine Fever is passed from pig to pig and how long it lasts in contaminated meat even if it is chilled or cured.
