Learning the ropes of film-making under the Taleban
Film-making was forbidden under the Taliban in Afghanistan when it controlled over three quarters of the country from 1996 to 2001. The hardline Islamic movement enforced a strict interpretation of Sharia law. Roya Sadat grew up in Herat at that time and learnt all about film-making in secret. Now her film - A Letter to the President- has been nominated for next year's Oscars in the foreign film category. Roya told 成人快手 Newsday how she ended up learning the art of making films.
