Despite their current league form, Jaap Stam knows how tough Middlesbrough can be.

Reading's next opponents haven't won in six games in all competitions.

"We really need to work hard and dig deep to get the three points," Stam told 成人快手 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "There's a lot of pressure on them.

"They've got the intentions to go up this season...they've got the financial ways to do that as well."

And Stam has admitted he has struggled to play his best side every match this season.

"That's down to injuries that we've had.

"It's down to getting new players in late...so there are several reasons."
