Setting up an emergency shelter for Houston flood victims
A record 30in of rain (75cm) has fallen on the city in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, turning roads into rivers. Gary Alston turned his local veterans association into a shelter for people who have been forced to leave their homes. He has welcomed as many as 300 people so far, with local volunteers providing clothes, bedding and food. Gary told Dan Damon about the kinds of people that have come to the shelter.
