Motorbike crime in Edinburgh: 'Let's get a chase'
Youth workers from Edinburgh have told ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 5 live's Calum MacDonald that one reason young people in the city are stealing motorbikes is for the thrill of the police chase.
"When the helicopter is out everyone goes a bit crazy…It's not really seen as a deterrent. They [young people] will purposely drive them round the area and flick a finger at the camera."
Chief Inspector James Jones, the local area commander, said: "It's a generational issue we have tackled in the city. It's not part of a criminal enterprise; it's recreational."
