A brand new piece based on 'Mars' by Knockavoe School
Pupils from Northern Ireland were inspired to create their own composition after listening to Holst's 'Mars'.
Using the rhythm of their school name as an ostinato, the students gradually developed the music by using rhythms of what is important to them at their school, for example 'playground' and 'me'. To reflect the excitement of the inspiration, 'Mars', dynamics were added to great effect.
