The Makers of the Colony Documentary Answer Questions
The makers of a documentary about the history of eugenics in the US respond to listeners.
The documentary The Colony tells the story of a eugenics programme which began almost 100 years ago in Virginia, USA. It saw around 70,000 people forcibly sterilised and it only came to an end in 1979. Independent radio producers, Peter Lang-Stanton and Steven Jackson got together to make the programme which had many of you wanting to know more. We put listeners' questions to them.
Global Beats fan, Paul Cosgrove tunes in to the music programme every month excited to hear what artists will be featured, but he was disappointed to find there were no track listings posted for the last two episodes. Series editor Catherine Fellows joins the Over To You team to explain.
