Olympic silver medalist and the co-founder of Nitro Athletics John Steffensen says the event is breathing new life into track and field.

The inaugural meet in Australia, which included a mixture of traditional and modified events, was won by eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt and his all-stars team.

Steffenson believes athletics hasn't changed much over the 100 years last and says Nitro Athletics is about "discovering new land in the sport" and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
