How a poo transplant can cure a sick patient
Mark Porter visits a 'poo bank' in Portsmouth where donated faecal matter is being frozen and stored for later use. The poo is administered to cure patients with a bug called Clostridium difficile or C. diff which causes severe diarrhoea. Consultant Microbiologist Andrew Flat explains.
