Jordan and Janet - I Don't Need to Worry About You
Janet is the kinship carer for her grandson Jordan. Jordan is 21 and in the 3rd year of his dentistry degree. He'll graduate in 2017, and he wants to stay and work in Glasgow. Janet took over his care when he was 10-months old because Jordan's mum - Janet's daughter - had developed a serious heroin addiction. His dad is a drug addict too. They're both still alive, but he has very little to do with them. Jordan's uncle also struggles with addiction, so Janet wanted to protect Jordan to try to ensure that he'd have a different kind of life.
This conversation was recorded on the 16th June, 2015 in St Enoch's Square, Glasgow in The Listening Project Booth, and set up in collaboration with the Poverty Truth Commission in Glasgow.
