Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, the celebrity chef, journalist and environmental campaigner, has said the UK government must step up efforts to tackle the ivory trade in order to stop fuelling the poaching of African elephants.

His new 成人快手1 series, Saving Africa's Elephants: Hugh And The Ivory War, found that more than 80 elephants are killed per day in Africa for their ivory, which experts say may lead to their extinction in just 25 years.

Hugh said the poaching situation is 鈥渄esperate鈥� because 鈥渨e have a very lively, buoyant ivory trade here in the UK鈥�.

鈥淏oth China and America have announced that they will ban the trade of solid ivory objects 鈥� we鈥檙e lagging behind,鈥� he added.
