The Teds: Britain's first teenage subculture
The Teds, with their Brylcreem hairstyles and notorious reputation, became Britain's first youth subculture in the 1950s. Chris Steele-Perkins spent three years documenting Teddy Boy culture and his landmark photo series, 'The Teds', is being exhibited in London for the first time in 40 years. He told Dan Damon about how the phenomenon began.
