It took Serena Williams almost a year to win the grand slam title that equalled the 22 singles title achieved by Steffi Graf. There was disappointment at last year's US Open and again in Melbourne and Paris this year, before Serena collected title number 22 at Wimbledon.

So what chance her beating Graf's record at this year's US Open? Her Olympic team-mate and gold medallist in the mixed doubles, Bethanie Mattek-Sands says it's hard to look beyond Serena for the title.
