Sara and Jane - The Need to Connect
Sara lives in Fife, Scotland and little sister Jane lives in Alberta, Canada. They were both born in the Northeast of Scotland. Their family emigrated to Canada in 1981, leaving just Sara and Jane behind. They were both students at Aberdeen University at that point. When Sara graduated in 1983, she went straight into a job in Aberdeen. Jane graduated in 1985, but jobs were scarce at that time so she decided to emigrate to Canada too, leaving Sara on her own. They recorded this conversation to commemorate 30-years from Jane's departure. Both of them have their own families, jobs and lives in their respective countries, but it doesn't make the feeling of loss and absence any easier for them both, so they make up for lost time whenever they reconvene.
