Metronomy and Alexis Taylor

Live music from Metronomy & Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor, plus film reviews from Chris Hewitt

Metronomy enlisted the help of Michael from NZCA Lines to perform stripped back takes from his latest effort, Summer ’08. That record saw Joe Mount work away from his band and return to the lone-electronics-fiddling method of his now-classic album, Night Out, released in that eponymous summer of 2008. Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor brought a tiny piano and a skateboard to the live room, and used them both to introduce us to the music of his new solo record, titled (rather fittingly) Piano. Empire Magazine’s Chris Hewitt delivered reviews on this week’s film releases, Star Trek Beyond and Spielberg’s The BFG, as well as shining the light on another hidden gem.
