The football hooligans driven by ideology, not alcohol
The England football manager, Roy Hodgson, and captain Wayne Rooney have urged supporters to avoid a repeat of the clashes with Russian fans on Saturday.
UEFA has threatened to expel both sides if there is any more violence.
French police said much of the trouble was caused by gangs of "hyper-fast", "hyper-violent" Russian hooligans known as Ultras, which have links to the far right.
