In Pakistan, the Council of Islamic Ideology (who act as an advisory body to the government on religious matters) has recently suggested that men should be allowed to beat their wives - as long as it is done ‘lightly’. The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ’s Pakistan correspondent Shaimaa Khalil tells Kate Lamble how the ruling provoked a social media storm.
