May Ly fled Vietnam 37 years ago during the war
The stories of the migrants on boats on the Mediterranean have shocked many. But it's a story that's as old as migration itself.
May Ly was brought up in Australia. She was just six months old when her family fled the Vietnam war on an old wooden boat, 37 and a half years ago. May Ly has now moved back to Vietnam.
Sarah Montague reported on Vietnam's economic transformation and how it is beginning to attract back some first and second generation Vietnamese people, who left to live overseas.
