It's becoming clear that some of the biggest emerging names in football are choosing China over European football clubs.

So what's made the difference? Is it here to last? Is this big spending really sustainable?

Former Everton player and Australia international Tim Cahill felt put out at his club Shanghai Shenhua. They wanted another overseas signing, so he had to leave, eventually to another Super League club Hangzhou Greentown. But is this a worrying trend?
