Has British Multiculturalism Failed?

Has multiculturalism in Britain been a success or has it created more fear and tension?

Has Britain been misguided in pursuing policies that encourage people to identify socially and politically according to their faith and culture? Should further integration be encouraged? Or should we stick with multiculturalism for fear of undermining the roots of an inclusive society? Panellists debating this include MP Ann Cryer, Professor Tariq Ramadan, a prominent Islamic scholar, Lee Jasper, Chair of the National Assembly Against Racism, Dr Marie Macey, who writes on gender and ethnicity, and Kenneth Minogue, Professor of Political Science at the London School of Economics.
