How changing behaviour can help prevent cancer
A remarkable behaviour change campaign in Northern Finland has prevented a quarter of a million deaths from cardiovascular disease. Cancer rates have also declined. Pekka Puska, former director for Non-communicable Disease Prevention at the World Health Organisation, describes how a campaign to persuade the people of Northern Finland to change their diet and stop smoking became so successful.
