The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has ruled that transgender athletes can compete without undergoing sex reassignment surgery, while some commentators have described this as unfair.

"As far as I'm concerned, they're women as long as their (testosterone) levels are right and they live their lives as females," says transgender boxing promoter Kellie Maloney. She debates the subject with Helen Lewis, deputy editor of the New Statesman.
