York Road Railway Station, Belfast: Forgotten Memorials

A memorial to soldiers who served in both World Wars once stood on the platform of the York Road Railway Station where throngs of commuters would pass by it daily.

When the station was demolished to make way for Yorkgate station, the memorial was moved to an out of the way car park where it remains to this day.

How many other memorials, which were meant to be permanent reminders of the sacrifices made of those who died in the war, now lie hidden away and unseen by the general public?
