Blind cricket - The Ashes

England versus Australia matches in whatever sport always rouse the passions and none more so than in cricket. In Adelaide the country鈥檚 leading blind and visually impaired cricketers are contesting their own Ashes series.

They'll play eight one day matches - a mix of 50 and 20 overs - with Australia looking to retain their own replica of the famous little urn they won in England four years ago. Blind cricket is an adapted version of the game that began in Melbourne in the 1920s by two factory workers who improvised the game using a tin can containing rocks. The sport has come a long way since, but the principle of an audible ball remains today.
