Journalist John Robb: Punk would not exist without Bowie

Music journalist John Robb has told 5 live he thinks punk 鈥渨ould not exist without David Bowie鈥�.

Paying tribute to Bowie, who has died at the age of 69, Robb said that Bowie 鈥淏lew people鈥檚 minds in the seventies [鈥 he expanded the possibility of the pop song to so many different spaces鈥�.

Speaking to Adrian Chiles on 5 live Daily, John Robb, who saw Bowie live numerous times said of Bowie鈥檚 latest album Blackstar:

鈥淗e went out at the pinnacle, making an unconventional record鈥e took chances all the way through鈥ever resting on his laurels [鈥 Even the records that didn鈥檛 work that well have a reason for being there, and you still respect him for taking the chances鈥�.
