Journalist John Robb: Punk would not exist without Bowie
Music journalist John Robb has told 5 live he thinks punk 鈥渨ould not exist without David Bowie鈥.
Paying tribute to Bowie, who has died at the age of 69, Robb said that Bowie 鈥淏lew people鈥檚 minds in the seventies [鈥 he expanded the possibility of the pop song to so many different spaces鈥.
Speaking to Adrian Chiles on 5 live Daily, John Robb, who saw Bowie live numerous times said of Bowie鈥檚 latest album Blackstar:
鈥淗e went out at the pinnacle, making an unconventional record鈥e took chances all the way through鈥ever resting on his laurels [鈥 Even the records that didn鈥檛 work that well have a reason for being there, and you still respect him for taking the chances鈥.
